Handmade Products
Every item is handmade, primarily using reclaimed or left-over textiles and ‘hand me down’ fabrics rather new bought, and often incorporate discarded clothes. A range of techniques are employed, but principally the work is influenced by traditional patchwork and quilting, given a contemporary twist.
Reusing textiles also redirects them from landfill and means that Jenni the items also have a low carbon footprint.
I take on private commissions for quilts – in particular ‘memory quilts’ featuring fabrics which have a nostalgic significance for the client. You provide the clothes or fabrics which you wish to include in a quilt, and I will make a totally unique quilt.
Quilts can be commissioned in a choice of sizes, designs and backings. Additional features can be added, such as embroidered lettering, dates and designs; printed images such as hand prints of children.
